DANNY GLENWRIGHT

PRESIDENT AND CEO

A journalist by training, Danny Glenwright has more than 18 years of experience in the non-profit and media sectors in Canada and internationally – and his work has taken him to more than 75 countries. This includes a stint as managing editor of the Gender Links news service in South Africa, a role with the United Nations in Palestine, and media training experience in Sierra Leone, Namibia, and Rwanda. He was also previously the executive director of Action Against Hunger Canada, the managing editor of Xtra newspaper and The Philanthropist, and the executive director of Journalists for Human Rights. Danny holds a master’s degree in international development from Italy’s Pavia University and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. He has written extensively about LGBTQ and gender issues, media literacy and Canada’s role in international development and he lives in Toronto with his husband.


BASHARAT HUSSAIN

VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE & IT

A seasoned finance professional, Basharat Hussain has more than 20 years of leadership experience in international development in Canada, Asia, and Africa. With an MBA from Cardiff University, Wales, with majors in Financial Management and Management of Change, he has held various senior roles in finance and operations, including Chief Finance and Operations Officer at Aga Khan Foundation East Africa, Finance Director at Aga Khan Foundation Afghanistan and Program Manager Finance and Administration. Most recently, Basharat held the role of Global Director, Program Finance at Right to Play International.


ERIN HUTCHINSON

VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS

With 18+ years of experience in the non-profit sector, Erin Hutchinson has deep experience in humanitarian and development operations, coordination and advocacy. Previously, she held leadership roles at community, national, and regional levels with organizations including the Norwegian Refugee Council, Action Against Hunger, and Save the Children across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Bringing extensive hands-on experience with program operations in complex contexts, she excels at designing and implementing systems and structures that drive impactful outcomes for the communities served. She has a Masters degree in Political Science from the University of Calgary.


SARAH MATTE

VICE PRESIDENT, RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

After 8 years with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto, Sarah Matte joined Save the Children in 2006. Since then, she has held numerous key roles within the fundraising team which led her to her current role. Sarah has developed a keen understanding of the importance of relationship building and believes it is the cornerstone of an effective fundraising strategy. She is a strong believer in empowering individuals to take their ideas to the next level and working in an inclusive and collaborative way to support the organization’s strategy.


TANYA SINCLAIR

VICE PRESIDENT, PEOPLE & CULTURE

Tanya Sinclair oversees the People & Culture strategy including the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (DEIA) strategy with a goal of making work great for all employees. Tanya defines and implements strategic approaches to talent management and the broader people portfolio based on best practices in alignment with organizational commitments to children’s rights and DEIA. Tanya is an active community volunteer for Diversity Advisory Committee with Durham Regional Police Service and is a founding Board Member for Black Human Resources Professionals of Canada. Tanya holds the Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRE) designation along with the Distinguished HR Professional (DHRP) lifetime award of distinction. Tanya’s leadership philosophy is lead, learn, laugh.
