Every child has a dream.
To be a scientist, a teacher, a chef, or even a famous athlete. But without access to education, these dreams are at risk of never being realized.
Right now, there is a growing education crisis in Ethiopia. Due to factors such as conflicts in neighbouring countries – which have created a refugee crisis in Ethiopia – and drought, it is estimated that 3.5 million Ethiopian children don’t have access to education.
That is 3.5 million dreams that need support and encouragement through education. These children deserve a chance to make their dreams a reality.
The Brighter Outcomes Ethiopia project – funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented in partnership with local organizations – promotes equitable and inclusive education for children who are refugees, internally displaced peoples (IDP), or living in host communities in the Oromia and Somali regions of Ethiopia, with a focus on girls and children with disabilities.
