Primary Job Purpose

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to Network, computer systems, hardware and software at Save the Children Canada.  The IT Administrator works with the Manager, Information Technology to ensure smooth delivery of technology services and efficient operations of Information and Communication systems and infrastructure.

1. Helpdesk End User Support and Training

  • Provide technical assistance and support for queries and issues related to network, computer systems, software and hardware.
  • Respond to queries either in person, via email or over the phone
  • Administer phone/ticket escalation processes to ensure free flowing escalation and information within the organization.
  • Responsible for onboarding and offboarding employees including workstation set up, ID addition and removals, IT orientation
  • Determine root cause of issues and identify mitigating strategies and plans.
  • In accordance with SCI and SCC standard operating procedures, maintain catalogue and provide end user training for core SCC systems and software
  • Adapt and/or develop training materials as required

2. Asset Management, IT Systems Support and Compliance

  • Support Manager, IT in conducting audits to monitor internet usage to comply to Child Safeguarding policies and standards
  • Provide first level of support for local area voice and data network (LAN)
  • Administrator of Office365 email and related systems
  • Support Manager, IT to manage ICT assets including:
    •  Physical inventory of systems and equipment
    • Scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems;
    • Installation and testing new programs
    • Updated anti-virus software, print services and email provision;
    • Ensure adherence to software licensing laws
  • Data Management and Security
  • Under the guidance of the Manager, IT, implement data management, security, and storage solutions

3. Telephony Administration and Office Equipment Maintenance

  • Administrator for telephony systems, including telephone extension mapping and IVR routing maintenance; updating master phone list and directories
  • Responsible for maintaining working order of telephone services including conference call services, toll free numbers, and mobile phone assignment
  • Ensure working order of photocopier and fax equipment, including updating employee directories

 Qualifications and Experience

  • College diploma in Technology or Computer Science
  • 2 – 5 years’ related experience
  • Proven working experience in providing help desk support
  • Sound project management expertise in all aspects of information technology
  • Experience applying information technology policies, practices and procedures
