About Us

ABOUT SAVE THE CHILDREN

Save the Children believes every child deserves a future.

In Canada and around the world, we do whatever it takes – every day and in times of crisis – so children can fulfill their rights to a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm.

We help ensure children’s unique needs are met and their voices are heard. Working in over 110 countries, and together with children, families, communities, and partners, we help millions of children to survive and thrive.

OUR VALUES

At Save the Children, our work is driven by seven core values. They are:

ACCOUNTABILITY

COURAGE

DIVERSITY

HUMAN RIGHTS

INCLUSION

JUSTICE

RECIPROCITY

These values not only drive our goals as an organizations, they also support our efforts to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and achieve immediate and lasting positive impact in their lives.

OUR PRIORITIES

We’re working to change children’s futures, for good.

To make this happen, we’ve outlined four key priority areas that our work focuses on. Hover over or tap on the headings below to learn more.

Children in Crisis

19% of children are living in conflict zones as of 2023. We’re working to ensure children’s rights and life-saving needs are met and protected through emergency action that also reduces gender inequality in emergency situations. Learn more about how we support children in emergencies.

Indigenous Child Rights

We’re working to protect and promote Indigenous children’s rights, through Indigenous-led methods that transform colonial ways of thinking. Learn more about our National Reconciliation Program.

Gender Equality

We’re helping to advance gender equality in homes, schools, communities and governments to uphold all children’s right to survive, learn, and be protected from harm. Learn more about how we’re advancing gender equality.

Climate Justice

We’re supporting climate resiliency in communities and addressing climate injustice for those most impacted by climate change, to help realize children’s environmental rights on a global level. Learn more about our work on climate change.

All our efforts work together to ensure that children’s rights are a reality, including efforts that protect the planet for future generations.
