Join us and take a stand for the children in Gaza and Lebanon.
I am joining Save the Children’s movement to call for an immediate adoption of the UN Security Council ceasefire resolution, and unrestricted humanitarian access in Gaza and Lebanon so children and families can receive urgent food and medical care.
The F Word
We don’t want to say the “F” word, but it’s true — Gaza is on the brink of famine, with the majority of its population struggling to find enough food to survive.
Children are dying from starvation and malnutrition — conditions that are both treatable and preventable. The ongoing violence, forced displacement, and restricted access to aid are making survival nearly impossible for many families.
Despite the adoption of multiple UN Security Council Resolutions to propose a ceasefire, so far no effective ceasefire has been implemented on the ground. This failure leaves children exposed to continued violence and starvation — and now Lebanon’s children are also suffering the consequences.
The lack of a ceasefire not only continues to put children’s lives at risk — it also limits and even hinders aid. Simply put: without a ceasefire and humanitarian access to Gaza and Lebanon, children will continue to die at alarming rates — not just from guns and bombs, but also from starvation and malnutrition.
What the end of the war needs to look like
What can prevent this crisis from worsening? The key to preventing full-blown famine is providing enough humanitarian aid and services — and that is impossible without an immediate and definitive ceasefire. This is the only way to allow children to safely meet their basic needs. Both the conflicting parties and the international community must act to ensure that aid reaches those in need.
Save the Children is ready to scale up our work and respond to the hunger crisis in Gaza and Lebanon.
Why act now?
We must all keep calling for the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution for a ceasefire and implement an immediate and safe passage of lifesaving humanitarian aid. Children must receive immediate nourishment, medical treatment and emergency support.
Public outcry from people like you is the only thing that can pressure all parties to the conflict in Gaza and Lebanon to adhere to international humanitarian and human rights law.
What we can’t do right now is remain complacent to the violence, hunger and suffering being inflicted on children in Gaza and Lebanon.
Save the Children has been providing essential services and support to Palestinian children since 1953 — and we will continue our work until every child is supported.
Help us make that possible — add your name to amplify the call for a ceasefire now.
